Jocelyn Cavender, MS, PA-C

Psychiatric Physician Assistant

Practice Owner

Jocelyn advocates for empowering patients to make the best decisions for their healthcare journey. Jocelyn gives patients the tools and knowledge derived from evidence-based medicine. Jocelyn does not want things to just be okay or good for her patients, but she wants things to get as close to great as possible, even if she may not be the best person to get them there. Jocelyn strives to help her patients achieve this through a therapeutic alliance by working together.

About Jocelyn

Jocelyn is an NCCPA board-certified physician assistant (PA) who graduated from the Western University of Health Sciences in 2008.   Initially trained in emergency medicine, she fell into urgent care and occupational medicine after managing care for patients in Afghanistan from 2010-2011.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jocelyn recognized the increasing need for mental health services and transitioned to psychiatry.  She has historically been a preceptor for the University of Colorado PA Program and Rocky Vista University’s (RVU) PA Program from 2018 to 2020.  She continues her learner-centered preceptor role for RVU as of late 2024.
